Sr Data Analyst

Job Description: As a Senior Data Analyst you will provide expertise to acquire, manage, manipulate, and analyze data and report results. This position should have expert level understanding of lottery data and advanced analytics. The ideal candidate for this position should have performed as a Systems Analyst or Market Research Analyst in the past. The candidate should also have experience with campaign management systems, CRM analytical solutions and ability to create the best analytical and trend analysis with measurable impact. Interacts directly with Lottery Marketing, Sales and IT and supports analytical functions.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.

  • Perform data entry, either manually or using scanning technology, when needed or required.

  • In collaboration with others, interpret data and develop recommendations based on findings.

  • Develop graphs, reports, and presentations of extracted results or data sets.

  • Perform basic statistical analyses for data sets and reports.

  • Analyze the data quality and critical dashboards.

  • Generate routine and ad hoc reports based on requests from Business team(s).

  • Responsibilities may also include: sales forecasting, business case development for new products, game content projects, developing future e-commerce strategies, and tracking of marketing campaigns to evaluate results and provide recommendations for future marketing promotions

  • Collaborate with cross functional teams like business, marketing and technology and deliver the required data analysis. Knowledge/Skills:

  • Experience using Business Objects reporting using WEBI and Crystal Reports.

  • Extensive experience in creating Tableau Dashboards with multiple data sets.

  • Must be able create Webi Universes.

  • Very good understanding of business work flows and aligns them into data analytics and reports.

  • Understanding of data models and relational databases.

  • Understanding of XML and SQL.

  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.

  • Knowledge on VB Macros

  • Experience using SAS, SPSS, or other statistical packages are desirable for analyzing large datasets.

  • Programming skills preferred. Adapt at queries and report writing.

  • Knowledge of statistics, at least to the degree necessary in order to communicate easily with statisticians.

  • Experience in data mining techniques and procedures and knowing when their use is appropriate.

  • Ability to present complex information in an understandable and compelling manner. Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s (Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or other quantitative field) and 4-6 years, or Master’s and 2-4 years, or Doctorate and 0-2 years.

  • Lottery or Gaming background or experience

Failure to achieve results or erroneous decisions or recommendations would normally have serious results and may require substantial expenditure of resources to correct and/or achieve project goals. Providing insufficient data, incorrect or misdirected methodology, or less than clear verbal and written communication of results could result in a project set back or poor decision making on the part of management.

Liaison

Frequent inter-organizational and outside customer contacts. Represents the organization on projects and may perform in project leadership role and/or may supervise the activities of lower level personnel. Frequent contact with senior management and Lottery.

Other Skills/ Requirements

Must excel in the use of Microsoft tools. Should have knowledge of Databases and Geographic tools. Use of statistical tools is a plus.
